Planning permission and Listed Building consent have now been received for a challenging development in Andover.
Two existing connected Grade II listed buildings on East Street, with various more recent extensions as well as parking at the rear, are currently used as offices.
The owners approached us for our assistance earlier this year, having twice failed to gain Planning permission for conversion to Residential dwellings. We carried out a new survey, picking up various unrecorded features, and prepared a more relevant Heritage Statement. Armed with these, we were able to produce a more appropriate layout for Residential conversion, ready to discuss with the Planners.
However as is often the case, the brief was about to change!
On the basis of some new sketch layouts we prepared for the owners, the Chiros Clinic made an offer for the building our client couldn’t refuse, and appointed Studio Four to obtain Change of Use permission for a Chiropractic Clinic in part of the buildings, and for Residential conversion of the remainder.
Despite some last-minute neighbour issues with a brick boundary wall, we were very pleased to receive consent earlier this month for the proposals, and our new client now has permission to use part of the building as a Clinic, and to convert the remainder into three new dwellings.
