Studio Four Architects is a RIBA Chartered, award-winning practice with studios in Hampshire and Devon. We deliver projects of varying scales and complexities across a diverse range of sectors.
Our approach is built on a strong sense of ownership. We remain closely involved at every stage, guiding each project from initial concept through to completion on site, and addressing challenges with creativity and care.
We lead and coordinate the entire process, supporting our clients and design teams throughout all RIBA work stages.

SECTORS
Healthcare is at the heart of Studio Four’s heritage. Over the years, we have developed extensive expertise in the delivery of primary care facilities, hospitals, GP surgeries and care homes.
Each facility brings its own complexities; from evolving clinical requirements to operational efficiency. We approach these challenges with informed and thoughtful design.
Residential projects, for us, are about more than buildings, they’re about how people live and experience a space. We design homes that respond to their context while supporting everyday life in a practical, considered way. Our experience spans private houses, barn and Class Q conversions, multi-unit schemes and student accommodation, always with a focus on proportion, material quality and compliance.
We begin by understanding how our clients want to live, then translate that into clear, well-resolved design. Careful attention to layout, light, sustainability and adaptability results in homes that are comfortable, efficient and made to last.
Our community portfolio includes lifeboat stations, community centres, and places of worship.
It is a highly rewarding sector, and we value the opportunity to work alongside organisations to create purposeful spaces that foster connection and serve their communities.
Our conservation work is led by a dedicated conservation architect and supported by extensive experience across a wide range of heritage assets. We have worked with listed buildings, conservation areas, churches, and historic sites, always taking a sensitive and informed approach that respects their character and significance.
Alongside design, we also prepare heritage statements, ensuring proposals are well-justified and aligned with relevant conservation policies.
Our current commercial work spans a diverse mix of leisure, retail, and community-focused projects. This includes cafés and restaurants, retail spaces, gyms and children’s play centres and EV charging superhubs.
Each project is designed to be engaging, functional, and commercially effective, with a strong emphasis on user experience and sense of place.

We have delivered projects across the full spectrum of the education sector, from early years and primary schools to colleges and universities. Our portfolio includes work for institutions such as the Universities of Winchester, Southampton and Bournemouth, alongside numerous local schools and colleges.
We value the opportunity to create environments that support learning, inspire ambition, and contribute to the development of future generations.
Our landscaping work is supported by our in-house garden designer and spans a wide range of project types, from private residential schemes to hospitals, memorial gardens, and local schools. We take a thoughtful, site-responsive approach to outdoor spaces, creating environments that are both functional and visually engaging.
We also assist with clearing planning conditions, ensuring landscape proposals are delivered smoothly and in line with project requirements
