Studio Four has recently obtained Class Q planning permissions for two redundant farm buildings on an agricultural estate near Romsey.
Working with Advoco Planning and Braden Chartered Surveyors we have secured permission for conversion of two structures on the site; a concrete-framed straw barn and a traditional brick and clay tile cart shed.
The existing barn has planning permission to become a three-bedroom dwelling. The main two storey element provides an entrance hall, formal living room, study and utility at ground floor level, and three bedrooms and two bathrooms at first floor level. The existing rear extension to the barn provides a vaulted space and an open plan living, dining and family area.
The cart shed has planning permission to become a three-bedroom dwelling. At ground floor level, and within the main existing body of the building, we have designed a large entrance hall and formal living room. On the first floor there are two large bedrooms and two bathrooms. The existing building has undergone a number of modern single storey extensions over the years and we have utilised these to provide a large open plan space with a kitchen, dining and family area to the rear with extensive glazing to maximise views and access to the rear garden. The existing side extension is converted to become a plant room, downstairs shower room and guest bedroom.
