We had a glorious day at the Leckford Estate on the River Test to celebrate our 25th anniversary.

Studio Four staff and 70 guests spent the day trying their hand at fly fishing and touring the wonderful water gardens at Longstock.

Longstock Park and Testside lakes created a perfect venue for first-timers to try casting flies, under the expert tuition of deputy head keeper Andy Bryan and his team from the Estate.

Lunch al fresco on a sunny day, with a delicious hog roast by Fat Hog and Big Pan Catering, was topped by Nick Lockyer and George Rankin cutting our “25” birthday cake. With traditional scale rules of course!

We were fortunate to have exclusive access to the water gardens all day and enjoyed the magnificent display of lilies and aquatic plants, all beautifully tended.

The Estate promised they would try to ensure everyone caught a fish to take home, and they very nearly succeeded!

Here’s Charlotte Malone from DBK having some luck in the morning..

and James Pinchon from Stephen Penfold Associates with his afternoon catch!

Ian Dunkley from ITD (assisted by our Emma McMullan) won a bottle of bubbly for best fish caught in the morning, and Mark Maffey from Studio Mode in the afternoon when he landed the biggest trout of the day.

To end a perfect day, all fish caught could be taken home, so most attendees had fresh fish for supper!

We’d like to thank our client Waitrose for allowing us to spend the day at this wonderful spot in the heart of the Test Valley.
