About the project
Although this project was initially part of the Oncology PFI, time pressures demanded that the Clinical Haematology Centre became a stand-alone project. Phase 1 consisted of 9 new Bone Marrow Transplant rooms where a whole floor was required to provide filtered air to each individual isolation room where patients may stay for up to six weeks.
Phase 2 is a dedicated Day Unit. Currently shared with Oncology, both need to expand. This is the first Appeal for the Southampton Hospital Charity. Phase 3 is to refurbish the rest of the existing department, bringing it into line with current standards and increasing the number of single side rooms.
