About the project

The scheme includes the re-design of the academic accommodation on the lower five floors and converting the top five floors of the block into student accommodation. 

It also incorporates external re-cladding of all the fa├žades to improve the visual and environmental performance of the fabric.

Thermal insulation was brought up to current standards and the overhanging roof feature provides both a visual cornice and a parapet to allow safe access to roof-mounted plant.

Studio Four Architects were commissioned by Colten Developments to design and obtain Planning permission for a development of 4 houses on a site in Lymington.

The Maltings, West Dean

Full Planning Permission was obtained for the Maltings in West Dean late 2011. The site comprises a house and 2 barns which date back to the 18th & 19th Century and are currently unused.

4 Dwellings, Kings Worthy

After designing and obtaining Planning permission for the refurbishment of an existing bungalow and the creation of 3 new dwellings, Studio Four were appointed by Williams Ewan to develop the drawings for Building Regulations approval and construction.

Heartbeat House, Southampton

Rotary Heartbeat House was opened in 1995 and has provided free accommodation for over 6,500 people whose loved ones are undergoing major heart treatment in the Wessex Regional Cardiac Centre.

Waterfront Development, Isle of Wight

Our Southampton office has been asked to carry out feasibility and planning for a development of 8 flats on a seafront location adjacent to an ancient monument.

18 new flats, Hayling Island

This project proposes a new building at a key location on Hayling Island; at the junction of Station Road and West Lane.

High Street, Southampton

Studio Four were asked to design a contemporary block of residential flats with ground floor commercial premises on a challenging site within the old part of the City.

Our Southampton office had the opportunity to design an infill development project which had to be taken into account the local vernacular architectural styles whilst being modern in the overall design.
