It’s already Christmas Eve and time to shut the computers down until next year.

By this time next Christmas we hope to all be working via our remote shared server, up in “The Cloud”, with just a small PC at each workstation. Something exciting to look forward to in 2016 as we upgrade all our Revit software and work towards BIM Level 3. Our emails are already remotely hosted, and we now all have the same email suffix, which will make giving out our email addresses over the phone much simpler!

This year’s winning Christmas card design is by Steve Robinson from our Winchester office. We continue to issue Christmas cards and newsletters by post in the traditional way, as we favour the personal approach. For those that haven’t received a copy, our 2016 Newsletter will be available to download from our publications page shortly, or you can order a paper copy from any of our offices.

2015 S4 Christmas card for website

The last few weeks have been frantic, with nearly a dozen Planning applications and Pre-applications prepared over the last month, just in time for Christmas!

This year has seen further major changes in the practice, with Specialist Projects coming under the able management of Phil Amey after Simeon Cox’s unexpected departure. The Southampton office Residential and Commercial workloads continue to expand reassuringly, whilst in Romsey and Winchester the challenges of a low ebb of Public Sector projects have re-focussed our teams who are now busy on more Residential, Historic and Commercial projects.

To enhance our management team, we are pleased to announce Julie Staunton has been promoted to Associate. Julie joined the practice in 2004 as a trainee Technologist, and has developed her skills over the last eleven years to become MCIAT-registered and a local CIAT committee member. On the way she has completed various projects for Education, Healthcare, Care Home and Commercial clients, as well as Local Authorities and private individuals. She is currently working on a complex redevelopment project at the University of Winchester, and also assisting Steve Robinson with our RNLI workload around the country. We look forward to her becoming actively involved in the management of the practice.

We wish all our clients, contacts and colleagues a very Merry Christmas and best wishes for the New Year. We will be open again on the 4th of January.
