About the project
Planning was obtained in Spring 2020, for the refurbishment and extensions to an existing dwelling just outside the New Forest National Park.
The project involved the conversion of the existing roofspace into a master bedroom and en-suite, which capitalises on the views to the North West towards Cranborne Chase Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
At first floor level the rooms were re-configured to create 2 double bedrooms, a single bedroom and a family bathroom.
At ground floor level, a new rear single storey extension provides a large kitchen and family space with large glass slimline doors which open out onto the new terrace. The existing kitchen was altered into a new large utility space and the existing living room has become an evening and winter snug with a log burner.
A flat roof system was chosen for the rear extension so views from the first floor windows would be retained. The extension is clad in Siberian larch at ground floor level and zinc for the first floor projection. A new rear terrace has been created which is paved in tumbled limestone, and features a sunken hot tub and elevates the terrace to make the most of the beautiful surrounding countryside views.
The project started on site in September 2020 and completed in Autumn 2021.
