Full Planning permission has now been granted by Winchester City Council to Country Homes for a new mixed-use development on a prominent site in this iconic medieval market town in Hampshire.
The site lies on the edge of the town opposite the historic Bishop’s Palace and has a history of development spanning from 1890’s to the modern day. The site has previously housed residential properties, healthcare facilities and a petrol station, with the Winchester Road bypass in the 1970’s carving through the original grain of street layouts.
Studio Four has been working on this site with our client for some years, exploring different layouts and massing with the Local Planning Authority, the Parish Council and the Youth Hall, who will be provided with a brand new facility as part of the proposals.
We have provided Visual Impact Analysis, Heritage statement, Contextual analysis and 3D renders as part of our input into this important new development in the town, which comprises 6 x 3-bedroom houses and 18 apartments alongside a Youth Hall with meeting rooms and a food bank.
