It’s an exciting time for Studio Four and the design team as construction work has just started for the new RNLI Penlee lifeboat station at Newlyn Harbour, near Penzance, Cornwall. Symons Construction (of St Ives) will begin work by diverting a stormwater sewer that runs under the proposed building footprint. Timing is crucial with respect to this – work must take place when the tide allows! The RNLI crew will shortly move into temporary facilities for the duration of works in order to cause minimal disruption to operations. These enabling works will allow the main construction work to progress. The new station will become fully operational during 2019.
