54 new build studio flats providing student accommodation in Southampton.

Studio Four were commissioned to assist with the development of new student accommodation in Southampton, consisting of 54 studio flats and a retail shop, in a 5-storey building plus basement, arranged around a central courtyard on a sloping site. The design also includes a social room, laundry, gymnasium and caretaker’s office.

The building was constructed under two separate contracts – the first for the steel-framed podium and retaining walls to form the basement and the second for the supply, installation and cladding to some seventy prefabricated timber framed modules. This form of construction was carefully chosen for speed and economy; the modules were detailed, manufactured, fully fitted out and decorated in Latvia, inspected by Studio Four Architects and the Client, then shipped over to the UK and craned into place.

The overall contract value was circa £3.5 million.

This project proposes a new building at a key location on Hayling Island; at the junction of Station Road and West Lane.

The Maltings, West Dean

Full Planning Permission was obtained for the Maltings in West Dean late 2011. The site comprises a house and 2 barns which date back to the 18th & 19th Century and are currently unused.

4 Dwellings, Kings Worthy

After designing and obtaining Planning permission for the refurbishment of an existing bungalow and the creation of 3 new dwellings, Studio Four were appointed by Williams Ewan to develop the drawings for Building Regulations approval and construction.

Odeon Arcade, Leicester

Planning Permission was achieved in 2015 for the redevelopment of a former cinema in the centre of Leicester.

4 new houses, Lymington

Studio Four Architects were commissioned by Colten Developments to design and obtain Planning permission for a development of 4 houses on a site in Lymington.

Belmont Road, Southampton

Our Southampton office were asked to look at redeveloping this existing corner site.
