Earlier this week, Studio Four hosted a special event at our award-winning RNLI Selsey lifeboat station. The day was a great success; the weather perfect, the food excellent (a hog roast provided by Fat Hog & Big Pan Catering) and we all enjoyed a unique setting on the beach. We would like to thank the RNLI volunteers that kindly took guests and staff on tours around the station and lifeboats, giving everyone a real taste of the hi-tech new Shannon-class all-weather lifeboat and launch tractor/trailer, as well as raising awareness of the fantastic work that the RNLI do saving lives at sea. To our amazement, the crews’ pagers went off mid-afternoon and the Shannon lifeboat was swiftly launched – we all witnessed the crew head off to assist Hayling Island’s inshore lifeboat in a rescue of those aboard a boat on fire. Happily, none were hurt/ injured and the vessel was towed into Chichester harbour in the early evening allowing the crew to return to station.

Those at Studio Four greatly enjoyed the afternoon in fine company and as a result of the attendees’ generosity in the raffle and other donations, we have raised over £2,000 for the RNLI at Selsey.

Many thanks to all those that attended!
