Despite the Spring-like weather outside, it’s time to close down the computers and tidy the desks ready for the New Year.

What exactly 2015 will hold is still not clear; an election year will bring all sorts of promises on public spending, but how much will filter down to our regular clients, and how quickly, is anyone’s guess.

2014 has certainly been an exciting year for us, with new opportunities in sectors such as Housing and Higher Education, whilst others such as Acute and Primary Healthcare are at a very low ebb. Tender prices seem to be creeping up, and we hear of the early signs of skilled labour shortages, but we still struggle to match some of the extremely low fee bids some practices are prepared to aim for.

Frameworks have represented a steady flow of new work, in particular the NHS SBS framework and Southern Universities Construction Consultancy Affinity Group. Elsewhere individual bespoke projects and historic buildings have provided unique challenges and rewarding solutions.

Our staff Christmas card competition was more hotly contested than ever, with some exceptional entries, any one of which could have been selected.

Paloma Rodriguez Congratulations to Paloma on her winning design!

We continue to issue cards and newsletters by post in the traditional way. We hope our clients and colleagues prefer this personal touch. If you haven’t received a 2015 newsletter, this will be available to download from the website shortly, or you can request a paper copy from any of our offices.
