The transformation of two hospital gardens for staff is now underway. The inviting schemes at the St Mary’s Hospital in Portsmouth and the Western Community Hospital in Southampton will provide external oases. Staff will be able to escape the hustle and bustle of hospital life amid a rich colour palette of highly scented plants and flowing, accessible spaces.
The charity funded projects have been made possible thanks to money raised by the late British Army officer Captain Sir Tom Moore, in tribute to the NHS staff for their efforts in the fight against Covid-19 throughout this pandemic.
The gardens should be open for use in a matter of weeks.
